Three must-have interior designer lights for every home

It is important to have multiple types of lighting in each space, as one room often has many other features such as work, relaxation, and dining. Interior designers generally recommend using three main types of interior designer lights—- Ambient lighting, task lighting, and accent lighting.

Here is a detailed explanation of these three main types of designer lighting in Cyprus-

1.    Ambient lighting - Ambient lighting, sometimes referred to as "general" lighting, is one of the most important types of lighting. These lights illuminate the entire room, allowing you and your guests to move quickly and safely throughout the space when it is otherwise naturally dark. Embedded lighting, downlights, chandeliers, ceiling-mounted fixtures, floor lamps, track lamps, and table lamps are all common types of ambient interior designer lights. It is important not to overdo it with ceiling fixtures and embedded lighting. Overuse can make the room feel like a clinical or airport runway. One of the secrets of interior design in the industry is to use a dimmer. A dimmer can be used to control the room's brightness as the natural light changes throughout the day.

2.            Task lighting - Whether you're cooking in the kitchen, working at your desk, or enjoying a book in your favourite chair, task lighting is one of three types of must-have lighting. Task lighting is focused and illuminates a particular area to help you perform tasks like writing or reading. Common types of task lights include directional embedded fixtures or downlights, pendant lights, or portable and desk lamps.

3.            Accent lighting - One of the other major types of designer lighting in Cyprus is accent lighting. Unlike ambient and task lighting, which have a more practical purpose, accent lighting is used to create an atmosphere. These lights can be used to highlight a collection of artwork, architectural features, plants, textiles, or objects. Accent lights are often used to draw attention to something special that you want to enhance. Common types of accent lighting include decorative sconces and wall fixtures, picture lights, candlelights, directional embedded or downlights, and track lights. With multiple accent lights throughout the room, you can keep your eyes moving and give the impression that the space is bigger than it really is.
